Over the last ~6 years I would have spent close to 10,000 hours diving into Bitcoin. It is as we all know, a rabbit hole that goes deep with a vast array of topics one can delve into in order to discover what Bitcoin is.
In my estimated 10,000 hours I have dabbled in the technology, the economics, philosophy, spirituality, game theory and more. Once I had moved past my initial skepticism the fundamental principals resonated with me and I was able to develop intense conviction rather quickly.
I knew what it was or so I thought…
This last weekend I attended Bitcoin Bush Bash. It was a weekend packed full of great speakers covering a range of interesting topics as well as plenty of valuable conversations. Bitcoiners love talking about inflation, central banks, CDBCs, multi-sig and all sorts of other Bitcoin things as well as mocking the absurdity that is “clown world”.
Prior to the weekend I had only ever met one other true Bitcoiner. With this person I had already experienced the ease of connecting with someone equally as insane and principled as myself. Over time, being around others that aren’t on the same page (aka normies) has become increasingly difficult. I’m sure many of you have experienced this too.
However, being someone that doesn’t do well with crowds of people the concept of spending an entire weekend with a big group of strangers was a rather large challenge to overcome. At times I had to withdraw and regroup. It has taken some time to process everything. I couldn’t wrap my head around what I was feeling until now.
This morning I had an epiphany.
This world that we exist in is built on a foundation of deception. Layered upon this are skewed incentives, theft and absurdity. Once you have seen this it is no wonder it becomes difficult to remain in the fiat world and exist aimlessly with everyone that can’t see the same thing.
Bitcoin is many things but most importantly it is a mechanism that, for those who have experienced it, strips away all of the layers and pretence. It allows for the expression of fundamental values of truth and openness. Stripping away the false layers of society allows for honesty and human connection on a level that can not be understood by 10,000 hours of learning. The only way this can be understood is through experiencing and feeling it for yourself.
Yes, we are fixing the money. That is just the tip of iceberg. In reality we are fixing the blockages in the energy that runs through every single human being on this planet. We are fixing our disconnected and broken existences. As more people experience this eventually we will reach a tipping point and when that happens we will have created a new world that none of us can fathom.
